I’ve been a lifelong northwest artist, creating for over thirty years in a variety of mediums. My early passion and skills qualified me for scholarships to obtain my BFA in fine art and graphic design from the Northwest College of Art in 2005. From there, I went on to teach elementary art overseas for the Department of Defense, and created public and private murals for the churches and community centers on base. In 2010 I shifted gears to become a studio photographer at the downtown Seattle Yuen Lui. In 2019 I decided to create art full time, with an emphasis on murals and public art. I opened my studio “Hart Studio” in downtown Gig Harbor in 2021, and have been specializing in murals and fine art commissions.
The theme of my work is connection through an open heart. I believe that art is meant to inspire and connect communities, therefor I have a strong passion for public murals and art that creates a sense of “awe” and emotion. My skills range from PNW landscapes, graphic design to portraits and pets. I illustrated the book “Never Never Now and Forever” that was published in 2022. I've had booths at numerous night markets, art shows and my local farmers market. My most notable work was a “Stand with Ukraine” mural that I created on my studio that was vandalized, I worked the vandalism into the new improved painting with the support of my community, and made national headlines. I’ve been hired by the City of Gig Harbor, and Pierce County for projects in the past several years. I’m currently doing murals full time, and hoping to do a variety of art exhibits over this next year.
