Gillian Nordlund
Gillian Nordlund makes art in Tacoma, WA. She was born there, but she doesn’t know where she will die. Her work is silly and sincere, and is created with easily accessible materials, including paints, fiber, clay, found objects, paper and pen. She channels the exuberance and joy required to defy the unrelenting struggles humans encounter in their existence through saturated colors and friendly images and considers text another form of drawing. She intends to make work that is encouraging and approachable and that recognizes the ridiculousness of our shared human experience.
