Katie Dean is a printmaker who is best known for her vibrant color palette and botanical themes. Her multi-layered linoleum block prints are influenced by her passion for exploring nature and getting lost in its open spaces. She finds this exercise a wonderful way to cultivate reflection and a seeking spirit to refresh her studio practice. While early pieces have been experiments in style, technique and color study, Katie’s recent work stems from a desire to tell stories. Some of her recent pieces include figures in the design, which she has found to be an effective way to express a more complex story or idea. As living is both beautiful and challenging, she believes sharing ideas and cultivating passion is a wonderful way to create joy.
